The Challenges

The project consists of widening Scott Road from west of Haun Road to east of Antelope Road along with the construction of a new 6 lane wide cast in place overcrossing bridge. In addition, this project adds two new loop ramps and modifies the existing ramps for freeway access along with acceleration and deceleration lanes for safely entering and exiting the freeway. Other project elements include new traffic signal equipment, landscaping, retaining walls, drainage facilities and several utility relocations. The project utilized a 55-hour interchange closure to modify the existing off ramp to bring the road to the new grade of Scott Road, which was approximately 6 feet, and align traffic to the new bridge structure.
