The Challenges
Owner’s project manager for the implementation of this charter school’s Master Plan. The first project was the track and soccer field that was completed for the fall 2012 semester. Subsequently, we began managing the programming for the main building, which was serving both the high school and middle school programs. In addition to creating two additional classrooms for the high school, we completed the construction of a new separate modular facility adjacent to the main building, to serve the middle school program.
A major challenge implementing the track and field was the management of large rock quantities uncovered during excavation. Additionally, evaluating natural grass or synthetic turf; after a thorough analysis of cost and usage differences, we recommended the more costly due to durability and the ability to use it continuously and immediately upon installation.
